Christantus Uche Ignites Straightforward Crystal Palace Triumph at Irish Side Shelbourne.

Despite embarking on their first-ever continental campaign, Oliver Glasner's side are adapting at a rapid pace. Without star figures like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the London club left Dublin with a commanding result that virtually secures them a spot in the Conference League qualifying rounds.

A further victory in their upcoming match against Finland's KuPS ought to be enough to secure straight passage to the last 16, particularly following a previous stumble against Strasbourg.

Squad Members Seize the Moment

This match provided a platform for some of Palace's lesser-used players to impress. Christantus Uche, making only his second start after arriving on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a clinical finish. Striker Eddie Nketiah contributed a second, finding the net for the second consecutive succession.

The Shelbourne side that had finished their league season were outmatched even for a mostly second-string Palace lineup. The visitors were further weakened by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are out with knee injuries.

Shelbourne were clinging on for dear life. Full-back Kameron Ledwidge was fortunate to escape a booking for a couple of robust tackles on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards rattled the woodwork with a powerful header from a corner.

The match was effectively over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past a series of weak challenges before calmly slotting a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.

Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to withdraw several players like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse almost scoring with his first touch, but saw his effort blocked.

Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche then missed a glaring chance, showing there is still scope for development in his game.

The only worry for Palace was a second-half knock to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to make his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect evening for the visiting side.
